I'm comfused, when is the O/D on, my car says it's on when the light on the panel is off, and off when the light is on (the light that says o/d off in the panel) However, my friends say it's actually off when the light is off......mmmmmmm I'm comfused.

So when to use overdrive?

I have a 98 nissan 200sx, and on the shifter it has a button that when i hit it a light comes on in the dash it reads overdrive off. How do i know if i'm supossed to drive in overdrive or not or when help please?
