A used Ford Taurus. They're rock solid reliable, safe, cheap to insure, comfortable to drive, and they can be bought, like new for next to nothing. The 24v engine runs pretty well, gets up and goes, they're good on gas. The only bad part is the styling..but if what you want is safe, cheap, reliable transportation that ISN'T a small buzzy 4 cylinder, you can't beat a Taurus. Just get a different color or put something silly on the antenna so you can find it in parking lots!!

if you are looking for safe, dont get a neon cuz they are the least safe. trucks are cheap and safe but they eat gas so id suggest a larger car like a four door with a 6 cylinder

Used cadillac..but eats gas. Older people trade them in..and only buy new ones and thats why they resell for nothing compared to original price. Lincoln Town Car's are the same way. They will not eat as much gas as most trucks. They are normally well takin care of.

If you shop around you can find some great deals on used cars. Saw $35,000 Marauders (5 star safety rating) averaging for about $17,000 with most of them less than 50,000 miles.

older ford escorts and subarus, also hondas, geo metros, geo prizms, hyundais are okay, and definately stay away from kias and saturns, because they are inexpensive cars, but they really suck. They are constantly breaking down, and a brand new kia usually only lasts about four years.
