Courtesy of Mapquest I found that the total distance for you is 2550 miles, and that it will take you 36 driving hours. Assuming you are ok driving eight hours a day, that is about five days. Assuming your daily expenses for food and drink come to about $40, that's $200 right there.

You didn't say what kind of vehicle you have, so I've divided these calculations into three options:
BIG truck or RV at 10 mpg = 255 gallons = $800
Average car or SUV at 20 mpg = 128 gal = $400
Fuel efficient car or small car, 30 mpg, = $300

so between $500 and $1000 depending on what vehicle you have.

God bless & drive safe. Sorry for your family's loss.

What mileage does your car get? Do you have AAA just in case?
I mapped your route on Ask.com.
Distance: 2512.3 miles
Estimated time: 36 hr. 55 min.
If you spend 9 hours a day driving, you will have to stop at 3 hotels.
That is additional cost, you are going to eat somewhere.
Also, airlines have cheaper fares for last minute travel for funerals.
Contact the airline directly.

If you have microsoft streets and trips software on your computer you can type in the average cost of gas and your average mpg. and it will give you a pretty good ballpark figure of the cost in gas.

Well it really depends on how many miles per gallon your vehicle gets.
