I'm comfused, when is the O/D on, my car says it's on when the light on the panel is off, and off when the light is on (the light that says o/d off in the panel) However, my friends say it's actually off when the light is off......mmmmmmm I'm comfused.

So when to use overdrive?

When in the freeway if I turn the light on the panel off, the Revolutions decrease.

The overdrive light is on to remind you that the overdrive is off. When you start your car, the default is on. The light will be off.
Use overdrive at all times except when pulling a trailer.

When the O/D light is off your overdrive will engage. Overdrive is desirable and will function unless you choose to disable it by pressing the button which will turn the light on to let you know it is disabled.

ok this is confusing to most....but when the light says OD OFF then the overdrive is off....that simple....many cars warn you when the overdrive is off. use the overdrive when your driving conditions meet or exceed 45 mph

Believe the car. If the revs decrease O/D is on.
