He has the right to claim them but she already has.now he is ready to file his. He is self-employed. Will they kick his back out or accept it and make her repay them? His income is higher and has legal custody. or just deny him entirely and make him pay cause he doesn't have dependants?

I used to receive under $500 refund, but this year I ended up paying about $60 dollars. I prefer having my financial life as simple as possible, but I want to know whether there is a certain income level for a single filer to itemize deduction as a rule of thumb.

I know that in the US you are supposed to report gambling winnings. When you do report gambling winnings however, are you supposed to prove it somehow? How will you know the exact amount of gambling winnings you've earned if you did not recieve a w-2g? Will there be a chance that if i report gambling winnings of 7500 and am not sure if there is more, that the IRS could audit me or penalize me in some way? and i am not deducting my losses.

i am 13..... but when i turn 16, i plan on getting a ford mustang.
i could afford this if i got a job at lasertron. they pay 9.25$ an hour. if i work 5 days a week and 4 hours a day, i think i could do it.hopefully minimum wage will be higher in 3 years.
the car is $28,000 with everything.
4 hours x 9.25 an hour x 5 days a week x 52 weeks = $9,620.00 what i need to know is how much money does social security take and how much do taxes take?

they say 375$ a month for the car... 375 x 12 months = 4500

9620-4500= 5120.

including gas, 100$ a month and insurance, 250$ a month (jr. driver....)

100+250=350 350 X 12= 4200$

5120-4200$ = 920$

how much do social security take from making 9620$ a year?
tax too.

Chemstar Financial sent me a check and said it was to cover administrative and processing fees for my winnings. Is this a scam? They want me to send them the money from the original check first and insure it at Walmart and mail it to someone in Canada and then they will send me a $250K check. Anyone heard of this?

Say "jim" was together with "sally" for 5 years and they were common law, and sally had a child. Jim took care of the child but was not the biological father and unfortunately they split up. On Jim's taxes, should he declare the child as a dependant? He is not supporting them anymore.
