Chemstar Financial sent me a check and said it was to cover administrative and processing fees for my winnings. Is this a scam? They want me to send them the money from the original check first and insure it at Walmart and mail it to someone in Canada and then they will send me a $250K check. Anyone heard of this?

I work for a financial institution and just today a couple came in and needed a loan to cover a scam check they had received from somewhere in Canada. It overdrew their account ALOT and now they are trying to fix the problem. Please don't believe that you won money. Never send money to someone you don't know. You'll be looking for a way to fix the problem too. In my humble opinion, it's a scam. Stay away. Beware. Throw away the stuff and ignore the emails. Be careful.

Yes it's a scam, and a very old one indead. Never send money to anyone you don't know. You cask the check and send them the money, it is charged to your account, your out the money and they laugh all the way to the bank with your money

If anyone sends you something for free, chances are 99.9999% it's a scam. Think about it - what do they gain (or anyone else who sends the "free cruise" or "free $$" letters) from sending you a $250K check? Don't do it!!!

If you haven't entered any contests, then you couldn't have won any money. Besides, it doesn't make sense to have to send money to get money. Definitely a scam.
