These organisations employ people to devise new and more dubious ways of raising profits on a daily basis.
What they do would, if done by a spiv in the street, bring the cops a running, but because it is carried on in the so called high pressure dealing rooms of the world these thieves and rogues get rewarded with vast bonuses.
The only high pressure these people feel is when they **** up and lose some of their unfairly earned loot.
Most of these creeps should be in jail along with their bosses who should know better.

IF I had any spare money i'd most certainly put it into Northern Rock! The fact that they have the Bank of England looking after them and that the US interest rate has fallen by 0.5% today, this should have a knock on effect and help to stabilise our economy.

Share prices are at their lowest so why not invest and buy some now? Chances are that Northern Rock will be fine given time, it's only down to ridiculous people who don't listen that things have got so bad. Don't they know that all money under £35k is safe?

I think I'll do the lottery tonight and invest some of my winnings ;)

Exercise 2-15A Averaging Costs L.O. 6

Sparta Camps, Inc., leases the land on which it builds camp sites. Sparta is considering opening a new site on land that requires $3,000 of rental payment per month. The variable cost of providing service is expected to be $4 per camper. The following chart shows the number of campers Sparta expects for the first year of operation of the new site.

Jan. 200, Feb. 150, Mar. 300, Apr. 300, May 300, june 500, july 700, aug 750, sep 450, oct 250, nov 50, dec 250, total 4,200

Assuming that Sparta wants to earn $10 per camper, determine the price it should charge for a camp site in February and August.

Computation of Fixed Cost Per Unit:

Land Cost Per Camper = 2000$ ×12 / 4,100 = 5.85

Price = ?

My supervisor and I ..are.. I suppose friends. We talk through emails outside of work. Now as a supervisor he is great anytime I have any questions. He's always very helpful and any situations come up I notify him and he takes care of it. Now the other night right after work something came up and I called him after work to tell him what happened he told me not to freak so I said ok and left it at that. Then when I went into work yesterday I wrote down the issue and reminded him of what we talked about on the phone and he said he'd take care of it so at the end of shift I asked him if he took care of it and he got an attitude with me about it saying yes I took care of it and it's send! I was just completely appauled by that. He never acted funky like that towards me. Then lately I notice he doesn't say Hi or anything to me anymore when I come into work. I don't know if he's just annoyed by me or what...I mean we're not close friend wise after work just email each other..I'm not sure if

When it comes to rates and whether the Dollar's strong against the Yen or the Pound weak against the dollar, I have very little idea what's going on.

I live in Japan and often send money home. I know the Yen is weak at the moment, so in a sense I'm 'losing' money when i send it back to the UK, but can anyone who's knowledgable about finances, exchange rates and so on give me some basic information about what I should be looking for (and where) when I monitor how strong the Yen is vs the Pound?

Many thanks.

u are reviewing the year-end financial statements of a small ($2 mil. revenues) company that has applied for a long-term loan from the bank. u note as you begin that a principal stockholder is your former college roommate. You are preparing your report & wonder about the following:
a. The company decided during the last month of the year to change their method of accounting for depreciation for this year’s financial statements. You do not believe that any adjustments were made to prior years’ reported results as a consequence of this change.
Should these items be disclosed in your report? Why or why not? If you disclose, how should your disclosure be phrased?

Should you disclose this to the company, to your employer, or in your report? Should the audit have been conducted differently? In your answers, try to keep in mind some of the fundamental qualitative principles underlying financial reporting and cite them where relevant.

I sold an item on Ebay and had item in a box with postage. I normally would have waited for payment before shipping the item, however my wife brought it to the post office while I was at work. Sold the item last Friday. I sent the buyer an invoice they sent me an e-mail that said it was "against ebay policy to require shipping insurance." I sent a friendly e-mail back that said they were incorrect but I would gladly remove the shipping insurance. So I sent them another invoice and haven't been paid or heard anything from the buyer.

PLEASE HELP

This question involves "uses of cash" and "sources of cash." Why is it that an increase in accounts receivable is considered a use of cash? Isn't accounts receivable the money that another company owes you?

Also, if an increase in accounts receivable is a use of cash, does that mean that a decrease in accounts receivable is also a use of cash?

My boyfriend is considering purchasing a diamond engagement ring he let me pick out. I was also helping him find a good price. Is it worth addding the extended service plan? It costs about $200 and with it the store will fix any problems related to the setting, sizing, or everyday damage. The ring is expensive enough, is it worth adding this price? How much damage (I am a teacher) can a ring really go through?
