IF I had any spare money i'd most certainly put it into Northern Rock! The fact that they have the Bank of England looking after them and that the US interest rate has fallen by 0.5% today, this should have a knock on effect and help to stabilise our economy.

Share prices are at their lowest so why not invest and buy some now? Chances are that Northern Rock will be fine given time, it's only down to ridiculous people who don't listen that things have got so bad. Don't they know that all money under £35k is safe?

I think I'll do the lottery tonight and invest some of my winnings ;)

Seeing as i am in the U.K. the shares of Northen Rock as gone up. But only because of our goverment bailed them out. But be careful, as now some of the poltictians are asking for the directors ect of Northen Rock to be sacked, this in turn could cause more money being taken out by customers, Then shares may just fall again.

Well I think you're right and spot on, if they did fall down, which they wont now they have got the government backing them, it would mean the collapse of the whole western world banking system. So at just under 3 quid it's a pretty safe bet. Let's put it this way. If they do go, and others follow, our money wont be worth a light anyway! Which it wont be in 2-3 years time after US CUT??? interest rates. I'm moving to China! It's wednesday tomorrow......... lottery day

That would be fine UNLESS they do fall prey to a bidder and are bought out - you may then only get what you paid for them or even less if the share price goes down again. It's not all guaranteed.

It's dropped to about 230p and 'bounced' past 300p once already .. Markets closed now and closing price looks to be about 258p.

It may be worth a punt tomorrow if it opens above 250p & climbs again, but I'm not counting on it ..
