Because that just seems almost too good to be true?? I've done business with them for more than 14 years and they have always been great, THey tell me that it is non-callable, and is NCUA insured.

Is there any other questions that i should be asking about this. Cause the best rate i have found for a CD, and I have REALLY looked hard over the last couple years on 6 nad 12 month terms is 5.75%

THey Have three locations in the area and have been around like since 1960.

Is there any other info i should be seeking about this??

Wilson Company will issue $300,000,000 of 7%, $1000 Par bonds on November 15, 2004. The bonds will pay interest semiannually and mature on November 15, 2011.
a) What is the value of an individual bond from this issue to an investor who purchases the Wilson bond on the date of issue (November 15, 2004) assuming they require an 8% return?
b) Without doing the calculation would the value of the bond go up, go down or stay the same if the required interest rate increased to 12%. Explain.
c) Without doing the calculation would the value of the bond go up, go down or stay the same if the maturity date was changed to November 15, 2009. Explain.

i am 24 and self-employed. i want to begin saving for when i am 65, but am unsure if a ROTH IRA is my best option. although i am researching now, for the most part i am still ignorant of the stock market and feel uncomfortable handling my own investments without a broker's help. if i could have $10,000 to invest initially, what are my options other than a ROTH IRA? or, is a ROTH IRA the best balance of security (it WILL grow in 40 years and without taxes!) and low-maintenance (well, little maintenance worries for ME) after all?

I put $4000 into an online discount brokerage. I currently have all the money in 6 stocks with 10-15 shares in each stock.

1. When I put more money into the account is it better to buy more shares in your current stocks if they are doing well? or diversify more by buying new stocks?

2. Does this portfolio look OK for a beginner?

RTSX 10 shares
BAC 10 shares
XEC 10 shares
JNJ 10 shares
EBAY 15 shares
BBY 12 shares

commision is $7 per share with no fees

Do you think it is worth buying 5k worth of Ford and 5K worth of JetBlue? My father gives my son $10,000 every year and we always just throw it into this Merril Lynch mutual fund. I was thinking this year I will buy Ford and JetBlue. There stocks are both very low and I have to believe that they will go up in the future. I was going to put the money in and let it sit.
Worth it?

There is some evidence that, in the years 1981-85, a simple name change resulted in a short-term increase in the price of certain business firms' stocks (relative to the prices of similar stocks).
Suppose that, to test the profitability of name changes in the more recent market (the past five years), we analyze the stock prices of a large sample of corporations shortly after they changed names, and we find that the mean relative increase in stock price was about 0.72%, with a standard deviation of 0.20%. Suppose that this mean and standard deviation apply to the population of all companies that changed names during the past five years. Complete the following statements about the distribution of relative increases in stock price for all companies that changed names during the past five years.
(a) According to Chebyshev's theorem, at least 84% of the relative increases in stock price lie between ( % ) and ( %)
round your answer 2 decimal places.
