should I try to time it so I don't buy too close to the distribution date? Would this make much of a difference? Is there anything else I should do or know about setting up an auto investment plan?

The stock underwent a 3 for 1 split in 2001 and a 2 for 1 split in 2006. The certificate has 130 shares on it...so that means it is actually 130x3 = 390; 390 x 2 = 780 shares now, right??? Do I just hand this in to my broker and he will credit my account with the 780 shares or do I have to do something else?? Surely it can't be this easy, can it...-Mark

I opened an account for my 18 month old daughter, but the interest rate is only 1.5 percent in three month. My goal is to have the money grow well before she's of age. I want the money to grow enough so by the time she's 18 years old she will at least have something valuable towards her college education. Please advise me what my options are specially toward her education

Thanks

Hi,
I just signed up for my company's 401k program and the agent adviced me to go ahead and set-up a guided portfolio service that would be done by morningstar. The fee is .60%, is this worth it? I get a 10 day trial and after which I could cancel it and do it on my own. The services state it will do the following: Wealth forecasting, asset allocation, investment selection and asset management. Thanks!

I had a teacher in elementary who said he didn't live pay check to pay check and he was into the stock market. Now that I'm in high school I have another teacher who says she doesn't live pay check to paycheck and she is also involved in the stock market. From hearing my two former teacher saying this and also if they miss a few pay check they will be ok I'm assuming its good to invest in the stock market.I'm just a 16 year old trying to plan his future I need and will a financial advisor or planner be able to help me with this.

Are there any clever ways to obtain or transfer funds from a private pension plan into another structured investment maybe? The fund in question is literally sitting still with no frequent payments being input as payments were stopped due to the plan being managed in a negative way. Traditionally people are not authorised to gain access to their funds before retirement, but am wondering if there are 'other ways' to extract this. Thanks in advance people.

Sell Short?
When you sell short a stock do you have to buy it back? I mean is there a time limit to buy it back?

Why don't I sell wallstreet and only buy back the stocks that crash and keep the others in limbo forever.

How was the process? Any regrets? Any pros/cons since transferring (or opening) your account? Thank you very much!
