I've seen on local newspapers plenty of times about people getting scammed by the so called investment company when the owner of the company disappears with the investors' money. Are there any legitimate investment companies? How can you tell if an investor company is legitimate? If a company is legit, how do they invest? In stocks? I can do that myself. Why would I hire them then?

There have been people who have lost everything to unscrupulous brokers who sell house stocks to whoever they can con out of their money. Oh yes, they refuse to buy the stocks back and sell their stakes leaving the people with the loss. It's like a MLM scheme from hell really.

My parents just passed me my Savings bonds they had purchased for me when I was a kid. They range back from 1988 to 1992. I don't want to spend them at all, but I was wondering if there was something better I could invest them in? Right now my interest rate is 4%.
Also, on my bond dated in 92, it says under "series EE" that "interest ceases 30 years from issue date". does that mean after 30 years they stop paying interest?

My daughter is 11 years old and she has won 2 separate savings bonds. The 1st one she won in a raffle at her cheerleading scholastics dinner for $100 last year. The second one was this past weekend at her cheerleading awards banquet for having the best grades in her squad for $50. We have both of the actual paper bond that came in the mail but I am so clueless as to what to do with them now that we have them. Are you just suppose to keep them until a certain time or should I open some sort of account for them to be deposited into? Do they mature after a certain amount of time? I would love for my daughter to be able to use them towards her college education and considering I don't make much money and my 1st husband (her father) passed away when she was 11 months old so she doesn't have any financial help from him I would like to know what the best option is to get the most out of these bonds. Thank you.

I've been doing some reading online and it seems silver prices will dip down soon into a price correction. I've been watching a silver stock Silver Weaton (SLW.to traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange). I know silver prices may not necessarily have a direct impact on silver stock, but they seem to have an influence. Should I wait for silver prices to fall in hopes that the stock will go down as well?

The current price of a stock is $60. I can buy a call at the strike price of $40. The bid for the option $20.10. Would it make any sense to buy this contract?

What if you had limited funds at the moment and are fairly certain the price will be moving up? Expiration being 23 days away.
