90% of small investors lose $; why do people buy high after stocks run, yet are scared to buy when things go down? Shouldnt we be more excited to buy when stocks go 'on sale' . I have never understood this.

Most investors and the population in general is making very slow progress in saving for retirement, so I'd like to be the one that fixes the problem. Compond interest is very powerful in making savings grow, so what I want to do is either compound it exponentially or have the principal deposits come from millions of people. I know there are mathematical formulas but am not sure what one I could use to get started.

back in nov. of 1998 i was working for wal mart and they have a stock purchase program well any way i had quit in april of 99. and now i'm wondering if i still have the stock that i had purchsed. i don't know how to find out if it's still there. they quit sending me letters on it about 4 1/2 years ago.
