There are a lot of ways. You could go get a traditional job depending on the age (I think its 15 or 16 depending on the state). You could start a business. I know that sounds silly, but a lot of teens do that, sometimes without even realizing it. Mowing lawns, doing odd jobs are popular ways. So is painting and other physical manual labor jobs. If a teenager is good on a computer, there may be online and website opportunties as well.
One idea might be to help neighbors clean out their attics and garages and offer to take their junk away. Then clean it up and sell it on Ebay or have a garage sale with all the stuff. There are lots of things really that can be done. Just be creative.

I'm a 16 year old teenager. First of all, how old is your teenager? 16 Does your teenager have a job? Is it part-time or have they left school and working full-time? just started part time job roughly around 2 months ago and work weekends only. Do they get pocket money? If so, how much? I wish. What do they have to pay for and what do you pay for? For example do you buy their food but they must pay for any recreational activities like going to the movies? anything house related is payed from the parents. However I'm responsible for paying for my own stuff when hanging out with friends etc. Does your teenager have to pay rent/contribute money to the household ()? No & never will hopefully. however I do sometimes pay for grociers whenever I feel like it which is fairly is like $200, & I usually give my parents $200 monthly, not because I'm forced to, but As a teenager I don't think I'll do much with the money I have. I usually get paid $600 every 2 weeks.

There was a time years ago before McDonalds and other fast food restaurants that teenagers would mow their neighbor's lawn, pulled weeds, clean out their garage, etc., for money. And teenager would take care of neighbors' children, a money making feat called baby sitting.
There is only one way to make money ...... WORK.

No contest: The SINGLE BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY IS TO START A LAWN MOVING/SHOVELING BUSINESS.
I did it. All it takes if printing up some flyers.... running them all over your neighbourhood, and then let the calls come in. In fact, you'll find your business picks up when people in your neighbourhood see you cutting the neighbours lawn every few weeks and ask if you can do theirs while you're there.
Its great! Unless you get really big, its all tax free cash, and in winter you switch to shoveling and sanding. I even ended up doing dog walking and plant watering when my neighbours were on vacation.
Ask your parents their thoughts on this, but millions of teens have proven that this idea works. Boy or girl, 12 or 18, you can do this, and it earns good money.
