The company I work for recently announced intention (with per-share offer) to purchase another publicly traded company. At this point both stocks are trading. Eventually, stock in the purchased company will cease to exist.

When and how does that happen. Will their be an instant when the deal is complete. At that moment will the value of the stock my company (the purchasing company) instantly adjust.

I understand that this is all SEC regulated, but I don't understand how the details are handled to avoid trading turmoil (or to allow trading turmoil).

A new law here in a 'european' country requires our company to re-register and requires documents from all our members. I'm having problems finding what I need for US registered companies. One type of document I'm trying to find via internet (as it takes a long time to get them from the companies themselves) is the official company registration document which states the company's name, date of incorporation, contact details, board members, company number, official signature etc....
I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of where I could get this off the Internet (it should be a public document after all)...

Ive had enough of the ridiculously high gas cost. $3.50/ gallon?! that's crazy...once it reaches $4/gal...I will officially take the bus & boycott gas altogether, its taking a chunk off our income & causing a strain to most families, plus businesses have to compensate for their employees' travel expenses.
