what happened to Tokai credit corp?

I received a vehicle loan from them in 1988. The vehicle has been payed off for many years, but their name is still posted on the registration of vehicle, and my aim is to have it removed.

Check with your DMV. They should be able to remove it. Or find who took over Tokai's loans
