Microsoft was once a zippy creative force. They seem to have become a stodgy stuffed-shirt domineering marketplace wizard. Now Apple creeps out as you may interpret from the TV ads...

Will Apple emerge as the new force to be reckoned with? Is that good for us? (Is that good for Apple?) Will Apple become a bunch of stuffed shirts? Will Microsoft wither on the vine or be forced to become more creative once again? What think?

Ford Motor Company recently "borrowed" 18 BILLION dollars for their restructuring "plan". I am sure the interest is over million a month. Who would lend that to them (the Japanese have all our money now, maybe it was them) and who thinks there's not a snow ball's chance they will be able to pay it back?! I want it to work for them since it directly affects my life (my husband is a Ford retiree) but it sure scares me. That's a lot of Mustangs!

The stock market recently saw a decline due to low retail numbers...mainly because to a drop in Walmart's seasonal sales. This could possibly be due to consumers finding more value in shopping at specialty stores. At the same time, Walmart has recently ventured into financial institutions with a bank in Mexico to "tap the undeveloped wealth of the area." While it isnt exactly a Swiss bank account, should we take notice and be weary of the Walton's new business venture? Is this the beginning of the end for Walmart and someone's looking for a way out?
