I was thinking about purchasing either the Vantage Score or the Fico Score. Some so called experts say the Vantage score is a joke and say do not waste your money. I want others opinion.

We are renting now, should we do a rent to own? Or is it better to do a mortgage. The thing is we might be moving out of the state in four years.

I have a main bathroom where some of the paint has peeled or chipped. I want to gently sand the dry wall in spot locations, but I am afraid of making the wall worse. There are some minor bubbles in the dry wall that I would like to sand or buff. I heard liquid sander is good, but have no experience with it. I plan on buffing or sanding the dry wall and then applying Kilz Premiem primer and then 2 coats of paint. What products would you recommend for gently sanding or buffing spot locations of the dry wall?

Let's say I have short term capital gains of $5,000 from selling stock A and long term capital gains of $10,000 from selling stock B. Both stocks were sold on 06/10/2006. To avoid any penalty should I pay federal income tax for those gains right away? Or I can wait until April 15, 2007?

Im 17 years old and I was stupid when i was a little younger and got some credit cards. I maxed out all of my cards not being aware that it would mean anything not to pay it back. I also got a few cell phone accounts and direct tv, hehe...i was only 15 or 16 and i was living on my own, i didnt know right from wrong then. Overall it is about $2500 in debt, will this be a major mark against my credit? And please dont judge me for being so stupid, i know it was a bad move now, and i have learned from my mistake. Now i just need help.....

Me and my husband make about $4000.00 a month (that is bring home pay after taxes). I know this is not a lot of money but, it seems like we can't save or have much left over after we pay the bills. The only major bill we have is 700.00 per month rent, 611.00 car payment. We are trying to save to buy a house in about a year through a VA loan. Our utilities are around 800.00 per month. That leaves us around 1,889 left over and this does not include my 703.00 per month child support from my ex. We eat at fast food joints to much but the real problem is my husband can't manage money well at all. It takes at least 20.00 a day for him. He is doing better though. I say that is a lot. Please HELP!!!

I just received my BA in English and would like to work for a newspaper in some way shape or form. But every ad I see for newspaper work they want writing clips or newspaper writing samples, but I don't have any samples of work besides the papers I have written for my classes. I write well, I just don't have experience writing for a paper. How do I go about getting a job @ a paper? Thanks.

Like most young people who get their first line of credit I have managed to screw up royally. I don't have what is considered serious debt by the companies who help people get out of debt, but it is still bad enough that I am slowly getting in a deeper mess. I was doing fine until some medical bills came along, and now I am close to losing my truck because of some other bills that had to be paid to get treatment. Anyways what I am getting at, is there anyway to get financial help for debt problems if you have a good job, but you just can't pay all of your bills each month?

You're in the fridge, get it?

The other day I put a urine sample cup in the fridge at work. It was full of apple juice with some yellow food coloring (very nice effect). Anywho, the HR VP hit the roof, along with any number of people in the building. An e-mail went out asking for the person responsible to come forward, (which I did not do nor do I have any intention of doing) so HR could resolve the situation. In other words, fire me. After no one came forward they announced that a hazmat team was going to brought in to dispose of the container. I mean, come on! Of course, that never happened. The janitor put on a rubber glove and threw it away.

The name on the sample was fake, but really funny, Penelope Persons (PP). Since this was obviously a joke, do you think that HR went too far, or was I doing something completely out of line?

I'm 17, will be 18 in less than two months, and I'm unemployed. When I turn 18, I intend on leaving my parent's house (though I'm still in high school). I've considered just being homeless, because it doesn't bother me, but I would like to graduate from school, and being homeless may make it more difficult to get stuff done. So I want a small apartment (there are some one bedroom apartments in my town for $99/month). But I need income, and I don't think it would be fair to ask my parents for help. I've applied many places, but I don't really know what else I should do. Can anyone help me?

Can companies like Gateway, Dell or other ones that you're entitled to dept to, can they take your social security if they have a representitive and they serve papers on you? I'm wondering cause my parents had one from a company that they had been in dept with years ago and on the served papers it said that they would garishe their state taxes, though they don't pay taxes out due to their income. Thanks.
