I wanted to order a dress from an online dress store. To order the proper size I have to be measured and then look at a sizing chart. So I got measured and I go to look at the sizing chart to determine which size to get. But, of course, there is a problem. They don't have a dress size that's my precise measurements. The first measurement is a 36.5" but if I get the dress with bust size 36, the waist will be 28 but my waist size is 31. If I get the bust size, it will be too tight around the waist, if I get the waist size, it'll be too loose around the bust. What do I do?

I need a special event dress for my 12 yr old who wear a 12 1/2 confortably.She has not started to develop yet but loves the teen styles.
Nothing fuffy or poofy. No pagent clothes.I love the new baby doll dresses . Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can find this sort of dress? I live in Connecticut but could order mail order.
