I had a approx.3' Austin sculpture named Ce Soir. I pawned it years ago since I needed money. I am desperately looking for another one (they no longer make it). It is charcoal in color, waist up of a man and a woman. If anyone can help me locate on, I'd really appreciate it.

I remember back in art class there was this black porus material (a bit like lava rock but crunchier and easily cut) that you could easily carve into statues etc. and smelled like rotten eggs. What is this material called? It came in square blocks and looked like sponge. And where is a good site to purchase some?

I am selling Lladro for a lady on Ebay. She had inherited several pieces all marked with the Lladro label and backstamp. One piece in particular has nothing but Made in Spain, the number 8-P, and possibly the letters NAO, S, 1XR, all carved into the base, not stamped? How do you know if this is a reproduction or an original piece? Thank you in advance for any help!

Kilns are often heated through “peep”holes. True or False

I think that's true...

How much can a pot shrink by the time it is “Leather Hard”?

At what “degrees F” temperature does a small 05 cone bend at ?

They may also be known as Gouda ceramics, being the region I think they come from. Any info on the artist, manufactorer, etc. would help a lot!

Is a book available that shows artist marks or signatures? How do you determine if the lamp is made of marble or ivory. The marking on the bottom of the lamp is N 619 Italy or N GI9 Italy. The lamp has been rewire and a brass base was added however this rewiring took place when cloth was still used to insulate the outside of the wire. Originally there was a hole drilled in the marble base so I feel this piece is very, very old. The marble appears to be handcarved, with a very simple design and resembles a "urn shaped" lamp that I have seen in antique catalogs, however none of these same "urn shaped" lamps are made from marble or ivory. The material is definately not a mold, as the cut marks can be seen on the bottom of the piece. Additionally the parts of the lamp are glued together, base and two shaped pieces above.
