When painting for ceramics, what happens if you paint using some cone 05 and cone 06 glaze and fire it for cone 05?

A cone 06 glaze is supposed to mature at a cooler fire than a cone 05, so it might run more than it is supposed to, and some contents burn out more so changing the look as well.

However the temperature differences are not great, so you may not notice a big difference.

I would however have a slab of clay under the pot and post just in case, so you don't have to pry it off the kiln shelf.

They might be just fine, some glazes run more when fired past their maturity, or like said before the color may be different than what you might have gotten at 05.

Probably not the color you had hoped for, but it may look alright anyway!
