I am going into 9th grade. My mom wants me to go to a music school when I go into 10th grade. I really want to go because I am really good at playing the oboe and music is something I know I want to make a career out of. There is one problem though. Friends. What will I do without them. I am really connected to the older girls in my section that are already at the high school. If I leave, I won't get to be in band with them when I get to high school. I really want to go to this school cuz it focuses mainly on music but I don't want to miss out on real high school either. It's just not the same. Plus they don't even have a marching band at this school. I have until January to decide but ever since my mom brought it up, it has been bothering me. I have a hard time going to sleep at night cuz that is all I think about. What would you do if you were in my position. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I have a pretty good musical ear. I can hear individual tones but I'm not to the point that I can easily hear intervals or chords. When trying to find them on an instrument, it's trial and error until I finaly find it.

One cannot be a performer if they can't recognise these things on demand.

I can play the clarinet, trumpet, tuba, oboe, and baritone. I'm going off to college and i would like to conduct but i have to also major on an instrument. i have played the clarinet for the longest and probably play it the best, however my director said that i should play trumpet, i have only played it for a year but apparently have made astonishing improvements, and i like all of them equally, what do i do?

This ruined my show in Sant Barabra. I was all the way at the back and could not hear well, beacuse the City of SB kept the volume low, AND could not see either because of the No Binoculars" policy. I have neeve rheard of anything like this and it looks like Pearl Jam has become the most uncool band ever!!!!!

People have been asking the same thing at thier forums and are totally disrespted by having their posts deleted!!!!!!!!! AND they never give an anser either!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking for some options for the talent show coming up, and I have more options for people to accompany me on piano than guitar. Something moderate speed probably, maybe alt. rock? I have a pretty wide vocal range, but my strongest is in the middle range. Thanks :)

I'm thinking of light classical music which is still in copyright & film or show tunes, not necessarily the latest hits. Arrangements for performance, not further publication.

I like live music, preferably rock and I am an archer. I don't drink but have no problem in visiting pub's. I am in my early 40's with the outlook of a 30 year old.

Thank you Karen

I just started teaching music / theatre at a private school grades K-11, and private voice lessons a year ago. When it comes to stage fright, I have no idea how to help my students overcome it. I never had stage fright, I love getting in front of an audience, so I can't relate to it in any way. I've tried words of encouragement, but that doesn't help. Any ideas?

I'm a tenor but when I go to sing the very top notes of my range, I have to shout them or I will go into falsetto. How do I learn to sing these notes without shouting them?
