their country in Pearl Harbor and of course all the other battles?

The history you research and accept as truth is the farthest thing from the truth. Taaking a wild guess is just as accurate. All you have to do is wild guess better than the mercanary hstorians. When someone tell me to read more history I know he is in college or he collect history books from garage sales.

Gentle historians,

Help me to understand this vexing situation of crossed swords, this battle of minds.

John N. posted question in the History Forum:

Before the 19th century, the United States had never seen it. What is it?

My response was Answer #1:

A baby born in 1801.

And you, distinguished reader, will understand: the 19th-Century began in 1801 – so BEFORE the 19th Century, no one in the United States had seen a baby born in 1801. In other words, from the beginning of time up to the 19th Century, no one in the US had seen a baby born in 1801.

Then this guy (we’ll call him Answer #5) offered his opinion:

remeber the 19th century is the 1800's .... so a baby in 1801 would not count

Am I not understanding his response?

Why doesn't the baby count? More specifically, why does Answerer #5 HATE BABIES? How can someone hate babies? They are so cute.

So who is the idiot – me or him? (No credit for the obvious answer that we’re both idiots.)

What would happen if Hitler would have used an Atomic Bomb?

During World War II, the United States introduced the Atomic Bomb and used it against Japan to end the war in the Pacific. Germany was actually very close to developing an Atomic Bomb also, but the Allies were able to invade Europe and defeat Germany before Hitler had the opportunity to use the bomb. If the Allies hadn't of gotten to Germany in time Where do you think Hitler would have dropped the A-Bomb if he would have had the time? How would it have changed World War II? How might it have changed the world today?

I'm confused. As far as i always knew, the Japanese first struck the Philippines by air on December 7 1941, immediately after Pearl Harbor on the same day. However, various history books blur the actual date of attack because of the time difference. Some books say that Pearl Harbor was attacked early morning December 8 1941 (Philippine Time) But this does not make sense because why would the Philippines be a whole day behind in the time difference?? did they have a different time system then??

I was watching a show about earth quakes (History Channel) and they mention an earthquake at sea could cause a tsunami that would send water inland as far as Ground Zero. And immeadiately I knew they meant the Twin Towers. Then I thought to myself: I wonder how that phrase came to be a part of our popular speech and thought? Any ideas....And I would like to know who first said Ground Zero...

Aside from all the interesting theories about why Hitler killed Jews. The bottomline is that the pope was paying for his military armaments and feeding Hitlers soldiers. The Pope paid for the equipment and supplies with a gift from his old buddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt felt it was for a righteous cause so he just borrowed the gold from Ft. Knox. Then it was paid back in silver. Then the silver disappered and America got paper. Pius never used all the gold. He tricked Hitler into the Russian winter. Now all the gold in Ft. Knox is in a vault in Vatican City in someone elses name.
