ive only ever ventured out stateside once, and that was boston, massachusits. i want to know if people in the deep south actualy give a damn (pardon my french) about the civil war, and if just getting by in life takes presedence over caring bout your country's history. Yes this is a question I'm hoping americans will answer, if your from Denmark, France, Spain, Italy or England - please avoid answering this as it defeats the purpose of the question itself.

As an american, be it from former unionist state or a former confederate state, do you REALLY have the time or thought to give a flying monkeys about the civil war, its history, and how history of the war itself panned out ? i'd be interested to hear from those who DO care and also from those who have enough on their plate to care about something that happened oh so many years ago that bares little next to no relevance to their daily survival lol.

ps: i think the accents on girls from the deep south have hot accents :-)

i think it went down as one of the worst moments of the 21st century...and may do so for a while. Sadly, it was a day brute evil almost prevailed - but the good in us all around the world from all faiths, races, creed, color, background - made us bond together and mourn those who sadly died in those terrorist attacks.

Do you still remember sepetember the 11th 2001 ? i want to hear from EVERYBODY...and that means people from all walks of life, backgrounds from all over the world. What were you doing that day when the attacks happened ? did you happen to find out/hear about them str8 away ? did have a little cry ? did you feel like this was coming ?

I'm reading an essay on the Hatfield-McCoy feud in the book "Kentucky through the centuries."
I'm trying to figure out how the feud finally ended? I read on several geneology sites and wikipedia. I can't seem to find anything about what actually made the families decide to end their feud.

Another thing I can't seem to find any information on, is what the role of the local judicial system was, aside from the hangings in 1891.

Anyone have any idea about this? Please do not direct me to wikipedia, I've already read the whole thing there about this feud, I just can't find any info one these two things.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Faked execution of dignitaries to escape death are not new in the middle east. It worked for Jesus. Saddam would be worth far more alive, to Bush, than dead.

i was just reading some answers people give, and someone said their proud to be british, after living in africa for 40years and seeing what the british did for africa & they made it a much better place than how they found it.i thought the whites took the Africans country over and the Africans became slaves, or was that years before? because Zambia recently had 43rd independence day when they got the freedom back.
im not sure of the history & i would like to learn,no stupid answers please.
