House used to be a funeral parlor; how do we search for information about its history? We don't even know the name of the parlor. Suggestions, please.

When my mother-in-law bought the house just over 20 years ago, the realtor told her it had been a funeral parlor. They had to remove caskets & such before moving in. How do we begin researching a house's past?

Do you remember the name of the soldier? Do you still have it, or were you able to give it back to him when he returned? Why are these bracelets never mentioned when remembering that period of history?

As a serious question here, do those of you who believe in reincarnation identify strongly with another culture and/or time period? If so, what do you identify with most?
As for me, I have always been highly drawn to old seafaring cultures, very ancient Egypt, and some of the Middle East (music and architecture..)

What would happen to the Native American civilization? Will they advance into modern civilization and become developed country? Or perhaps the Native American WERE the one who sailed across the ocean and discovered EUROPE?

What do you think will happen then? What's your argumentation? Will we have a better world now... or worse?

I am new to America. I come from Asia where we have no blacks nor white people and we do not have any discrimination like they say here.
It is new to me to discover that black and whites are still diffrent here after many decades and with strict rules about discrimination.
Whites try very much to be polite and try to be politically correct which is good. In asia we wil just tease our friends dirty indians or chinese pig without any real discrimination. Here it is totally unacceptable. I call this civil manners and I am learning. I find blacks walking in a dance and driving cars with loud music. They surely like music and rythym. They also look at you sideways and not straight. They talk different way. Whites try to be very polite and also try to convert you to christianity and do not understand if you do not believe in their God. Blacks very much religious and yet they also commit lots of crimes. Hope there will be less differences between races in US in future.

It suddenly came to me that the modern day American I feel does not have what the old Americans who won WWII had. The modern American public wouldn't have been able to stomach hundreds of thousands of war deaths. Would the modern American have been willing to send millions into the war as soldiers? Would any of the modern television networks be willing to show the propaganda films that the US used and stuff it about their freedom of press for a while so government secrets won't be leaked via the CNN? Would we have the passion to endure the economic and domestic problems for long terms in order for our government to focus on liberating other nations and stopping threats on our own nation? Would we have elected a president that could actually lead and inspire us? Would we have had the patience to wait years for a breakthrough in the war? With all our whining about the small wars of today I really wonder whether the modern Americans would have surrendered after Pearl Harbor?
