I have verification once they get to the united states and settled in wisconsin. I have some information on their life in germany near the posen area of germany or prussia which is now poznan poland The names of most interest would be Albert Zellmer born 1854 son of Christoff Zellmer born 1909 son of Johann Zellmer probably born 1792 or earlier. Albert was married to Emilie Klug he came to the usa in 1868 aboard the cymbria with his father Christoff mother Auguste Drews Zellmer and their other 6 children. Johann was married to Susanna Brehmmer she may have come to the usa as well. I'm looking for something more advanced than this one-liner stuff I'm finding online. I know there's a computer program that you can buy that gives you access to a huge baby names database but I don't know what it's called or how to look it up. Any help would be appreciated. A friend of mine is having a little girl named Davanie Jayde and I wanted to do something with the meaning of her name for her room.

Society views the father's heritage/religion as the dominant one.
So for the most part if a Jew male marries a non-Jew, the kids will be raised as Jews and identify as Jews (because it's hard not to with a last name like Goldstein)
So by instituting the matrilineal descent laws, if a non-Jew male marries a Jew, she feels that it's her duty to raise the kids as Jews and the kids knowing this information will identify as Jews.
So in the end, whatever the outcome, a union between a Jew and a non-Jew ends in Jewish kids.
