My family name is Bankz and I have been looking for my family heritage. I can find no information in my country (Canada) about it. I believe my family came from Eastern Germany. If anyone could provide me with any information I would be eternally grateful!

My family name is Bankz and I have been looking for my family heritage. I can find no information in my country (Canada) about it. I believe my family came from Eastern Germany. I have been through all of the genealogy sites online the few that are listed have availed nothing.My g grandfathers name was Jamel Elvin Bankz, I am told that his names are Jewish but I can not confirm this. I have had many paid searches done and still come up with nothing. Should you or someone you know have the surname BANKZ please contact me. For any information I would be eternally grateful! I will try to post his picture as my user pic.The guy with the tattoos would be him :)

The Family Search site by LDS has 12 good entries that do indicate locations back to 1703. One is Johan in Sweden.
