Hello,

I am trying to get ready for a swing performance at my dad's wedding (in mid-October) My friend is a very good dancer and will be my partner. Problem is, although he's agreed to doing this and practice with me, he can be hard to get a hold of/make plans. I've already bought the shoes and a nice, unreturnable dress and I just dont know how to deal with him in a civil/effective way.
I have a feeling like he's not commited to this project that means so much to me; I'm worried that he'll keep putting off practices or even bail.
Please give me advice.

By "ballerina", I mean one who regularly dances en pointe.

By "pretty", I mean "just presentable": good enough to wear sandals to school, and okay to go barefoot at home and not scare the living daylights out of your brother.

I know it's a "given" that ballerinas have ugly feet. But is there any way around this?

I'm seriously considering whether to go on pointe. I AM ready for it: I'm 16 and have been dancing for 3 years. I'm debating the worth and risks of doing it, and this is only one of many considerations.

I do, however, like my feet exposed. When I'm not dancing, I rarely wear socks or closed-toe shoes.

How many other ladies out there love to see their man dress up in a tutu and dance for her? Is this too much to ask of my hubby?

I'm fourteen, and I just wondering if it was too late for me to start taking ballet. I've always wanted to as long as I can remember but Iv'e always been busy with my family. I don't want to do ballet professionally when I'm older, So I was just wondering if I could still take it.

I've already read 'Winter Season-A Dancer's Journal', Life in Dance (Darcey Bussell biography) both unputdownable. I'm currently reading Margot Fonteyn, any opinions? Have you read any other novels about ballet dancers that you could recommend?

I've recently starting going to dance in clubs, but I'm sort of a beginner at it. I've never really knew how to dance. I was kind of shy doing so, therefore I never tried it. Now I actually like to dance, but sometimes I feel kind of odd. I still don't know how. To dance and techno music, it's easier for me as long as there's always a good beat, but to like reggae, and r&b(hips dont lie, sos) it seems harder. So how do you dance? Is there any online videos that can show you how or any techniques?

I want to learn ballet and everyone says I should go to the HBA but I am not sure if they just welcome and if I am allowed to go even if I have never had a single ballet lesson.
