No offense meant, but how in the hell would ANYONE know who the "average male dancer" is, and unless these people have actually bedded them down, how in the hell would they know who is 'Gay?' Are you suddenly interested in get together with male dancers? If so, go find some and ask if they are interested. I can only assume you are NOT conducting a poll for scientific reasons, so again, I will ask...why in the hell do you need to know anything about this? And, until you ask, I didn't realize there were degrees of Gayness...I learn something new everyday. I suppose the next thing I will hear is, "How pregnant is Ann Smith, on a scale of 1 to 10." ANYONE answering this question with any kind of answer other than what I have written is making serious assumptions and judgments that are best left in the hands of those who need to know...you are not one of them.

~Perhaps you should ask this question of anyone of the following male dancers who are, or were, the top in their fields:

Edward Villella, Peter Martins and Mikhail Baryshnikov (ballet)
Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire (modern dance)
Gregory Hines and Bill Robinson (jazz dance)
Bob Fosse and Peter Gennaro (choreographers)

Before you ask them if they're gay, I suggest you learn to run fast. They are not only straight guys with wives and kids (and in some cases mistresses), but they have great muscular bodies and can probably kick your little a*ss.

Before you stereotype male dancers, get some knowledge. Are you aware that there are football players who study ballet to make them better on the field? I can just see you asking a full back who studies ballet if he's gay. Oh, it's just too visual!

I don't think a man dancing has anything to do with being gay, I know some men in different types of dance from jazz to yes I no a couple of entertainers (stripping). I kind of think that this question is a little offensive, putting men that dance in a category.
So with that please take the opportunity to become a little more openminded and not so damn ignorant.

How stereotypical. Patrick Swayze the actor is a dancer...and has been happily married for over 20 years.
