systems of linear equations and matrices?

Hello my name is Rob and I am working with matrices.

I am having a problem when it comes to fractions in matrices such as:

-25 -3 | -13

10 1 | 6

This is what I have done so far:

-1/25 * R1 è R1 which gives me:

-1/25 * -25 = 1 and -1/25 * -3 = 3/25 but know here is where I get messed up: -1/25 * -13 = 13/25 I know the answer is 41/25 but how did my book get 41/25

Please help, I am in need of fraction help!

Microcentrifuge?

I am seperating my proteins using microcentrifuge(Max.volume 1.5ml). I wonder what volume of sample should actually be put at maximum. because I remember someone saying that it should be two third of the max. volume, which is 1ml in this case. But now I need to centrifuge 1.5ml of my sample and want to know if its OK.
I want to avoid to seperate it into 2X0.75ml if possible due to the amount of work. There are no other type of centrifuges or rotors are currently available in this lab. And also, if anyone can explain why we should not centrifuge using max. volume( if this statement is true)? Sorry if this question is too basic. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Any benefit to washing mattress cover and sheets in long "heavy duty" cycle?

I often use the ridiculously long heavy duty cycle when I wash my mattress cover and sheets in an extra long cycle. Is this really necessary, or will the regular cycle take care of germs, etc.?

I usually wash them every two weeks. I use bleach on the mattress cover, but not on the sheets.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I need to increase the efficiency of my wash days if possible. Thanks!

Two models of Electrical current?

I am a bit confused about the exact nature of electric current flow.

Is electric current due to excess of electrons on the negative terminal of the cell/battery and these electrons leave terminal, flow through the conducting wire, reach the positive terminal (where there is electrons deficiency) of the cell/battery and and fill the gap

OR

The Cell, due to the electric field, sets up the conducting wire's electrons (not the ones in the chemical of the cell) move with a slow drift speed while electrical energy travels at the speed of light? or could it be viewed both ways?

I would appreciate a very clear detailed answer for this question kinnda bothers me a lot.

Have children, or split up??

If you were married, and 100% did not want children, and your wife 100% did want children, leaving the choice from the wife of- either we have children or split up (but you do want to stay with your wife) what would YOU do?
Keep in mind that BOTH parties are 100% about their decisions on having children.

How do you prevent history from repeating itself?

Given that you grew up in an environment wherein the older generations are not good character models, how do you go about getting rid of these qualities which are inculcated in your character as a person? Why do americans celebrate this day?
