Hello my name is Rob and I am working with matrices.

I am having a problem when it comes to fractions in matrices such as:

-25 -3 | -13

10 1 | 6

This is what I have done so far:

-1/25 * R1 è R1 which gives me:

-1/25 * -25 = 1 and -1/25 * -3 = 3/25 but know here is where I get messed up: -1/25 * -13 = 13/25 I know the answer is 41/25 but how did my book get 41/25

Please help, I am in need of fraction help!

I think, maybe, a lot of your question didn't come thru correctly.

OK. 1+(3/25)+(13/25) = (25/25)+(3/25)+(13/25) = 41/25

You have to convert the 1 to 25/25 so that everything has a common denominator (in this case 25) before you can add fractions

i am going to imagine of a minimum of four recommendations: a million) elimination (upload or subtract the equations to get rid of a variable) 2) substitution (rearrange one equation to get one equation through itself, then replace into the different equation 3) Kramer's Rule (matrix operations) 4) Graphically (seem for the intersection) certain, a equipment could have more effective than one answer-- if the lines are all a similar line, there are an unlimited type of options (each element on the line is a answer). Algebraically, you eventually end up with something that sounds like 0 = 0 or 3 = 3. A equipment would even haven't any options (if the lines are parallel, or if more effective than 2 lines intersect do not intersect in a unmarried element). Algebraically, you eventually end up with something that sounds like 0 = 3, or 9 = 12. the way the equations are offered frequently ensure it really is extra accessible. ex: y = 3x - 5 2x + 3y = 18 ==> because the first equation is already solved for y, this will be extra accessible to apply substitution (the 2d equation would develop into : 2x + 3(3x - 5) = 18 4x - 5y = -8 2x + 5y = 26 ==> will be extra accessible to remedy through elimination, in view that including the equtions would yield 6x = 18 be conscious: each in certain situations, if the first answer you calculate is a "messy fraction", it might then be extra accessible to flow back and get rid of the different variable really than replace the fraction back in to remedy for the different even with the undeniable fact that, executed correct, each approach will yield a similar answer. Graphically (through hand) is the trickiest to achieve on the right answer-- exceptionally no matter if it isn't an integer, or the coefficients at the on the spot are not integers. A calculator seems after this.
