you eat chrackers, chips etc....only to realise you have to go brush your teeth soon...then all the chip food gets on your toothbrush. and you scrub and scrub but theres still always chips stuck in your teeth?

Am going to South america in a few weeks without knowing for how long, will be backpacking. Only have a ticket to Bogota', plan on staying in South America till around March or so and then heading back to Europe.

I've heard that immigration sometimes demand proof of exit as a prerequisite for entering the country, but I don't want to commit myself to any tickets. If I produce 2 credit cards &bank statements (proving that I have plenty of cash to survive) will I be ok?

And if not, will I be given the chance to get online and buy a cheap ticket from Bogota to Quito, or will immigration simply deport me on the spot!?

I want to stay one star hotels w/cold shower only and eat rice and beans and maybe 5 beers per day. I will ride public buses only. how much will I need per day? I was thinking $25???

I read that many tourists have a break-in in their cars.
I read that we should not walk in the cities by nights.
As I rent a car for 5 weeks ... what is my chance to be victim of stealing?

I don't want to stick in hotels by nights and be stolen when I don't watch the car.

Note: Many nights ... I will even not stay in an hotel ... just in the car.

I'll be going to Guatemala for a week on a spanish study course and i was wondering how much of the local currency would be sufficient. I already have my accommodation and food paid for and since i'll be studying I dont plan to take many 'tourist trips'. I have no idea how much of the local currency i should bring! my cousins live in costa rica n one time i visited them n they had this drink called "Noni" n i drank sum n it was the nastiest crappiest sh*t i ever tasted. it was bitter n sour n the flavor stayed in ur mouth. it was brown n lumpy n smelled sooooo bad, it looked like diarreah, n tasted like it too. supposely its supposed to make u healthier n live longer, but i think it just kills u quicker. anyone know wat im talkin about? they sell it in costa rica
