what is the travel time by automobile?

2007-01-20 13:54:16 · 2 answers · asked by Rene B 1

I've been in Rome for around 1 week. I have been asked to go out but don't really have the money. Back in the states I wasn't on that big of a budget, so whenever I would go out on a date I would always offer to help pay. Will he think I'm awful for not offering?

Sorry, silly question but it is something I was wondering about. Thanks.

We are a couple with a 6 year old boy. We would like to spend a week based out of somewhere nice in the mountains in North or NE - renting a house/chalet or staying in a 3-4 star hotel. We like hiking, "adventure" things suitable for a 6 year old, won't mind if there are other kids around, cultural attractions, eco-things, etc...

We would like to be able to travel for a day trip to Austria or Switzerland too, from where we are, so some decent highway access is important.

Language is not a problem as we are fluent in Italian.

We are going to be in Italy for the first week of February and I would like to visit Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera, but I don't know what kind of weather to expect. Will it likely to be warm enough to be fun hiking outside? All the great pictures look like they were taken in the summer...

I am a 35 year old American visiting Italy with my brother for two weeks in May. I enjoy art, good food, scenery and history - so Italy will be great. I only have two weeks though! I want to see Florence, Rome and Venice. I assume I can get away with 2 days at each. Besides that, which should I see of the following (the others on my wish list):

Siena
Dolomiti / Dolomites
Lake Como
Milan
Bologna
Umbria and Tuscany (mountain villages, etc)
Assissi
Naples (and Pompei ruins)
Amalfi Coast
Cinque Terre
Others that I have missed

Thanks!

I'll be passing through Rome in August (on the way to Capri). I'm looking for a decent but cheap hotel near the train station for one or two nights, preferably within walking decent or a short cab ride. I looked at two Best Westerns that looked okay. Would prefer a hotel with a nice restaurant or close to one. Thanks.

Hi, i don't know if it's right to do this on the Y! Answers!
But I've just come to Milan, italy. I don't speak the language and I don't know many people. I will spend the next few years here. So I'm looking forward to meeting people who speak English and who are here. I'm not looking for dates! I've already married.
Thanks
