How come it was the Irish Protestants who fought for Ireland's independence from the UK?
I mean if its true that the leaders were Protestants then why wud they fight for Ireland's independence when Protestants are loyal to the English & have English ancestry, i dont get this.

I am looking for a really interesting place to stay in Ireland. My wife and I will be touring the southwest by car. I am interested in staying somewhere interesting. I'm going to a wedding in Galway (from Los Angeles) in a couple weeks and the groom wants us to wear kilts. The groom and best man will be wearing the grooms family tartan. Being from the States, a few of us only have plain black "Utilikilts" that do look great with a shirt, tie and black jacket. Would this be appropriate?
