Zidane is retired,so why won't you please pay him some respect as a human being?? If you can't pay him even a little respect,you're not even a human being at all.As for Materazzi,he himself wants to forget everything that ever happened at the final WC.So why should we bother about it? Why can't some people stop insulting Zidane and the French people??? Are they really that bad??At least they are not like Americans and Israelis who the world has known as the number 1 war supporters!! So would you just stop insulting other people when you yourself are not that perfect!! No one is perfect,and so do Zidane and Materazzi..!! So cut the crap and stop insulting others!! You don't know yourself what you will do if you're being insulted and you also don't know what you will be saying to other football players if you're so tired after playing for such a long period!! So,for those who can't stop insulting others,STOP IT!!!!

Isn't he one of the greatest examples? He was constantly insulted, and made out to be a villain, criticised...but never ever backed down. He is more than the best goalkeeper, he is a true hero. I know I learned something from him, and that's to never ever back down!!!

annoying is more like it.i use to work with this french guy and after about a week of people knowing him they hated him.cuz he use to say the same things these french people say.just real dumn stuff.we ended up getting him fired cuz he use to do a bunch of stupid stupid stuff.get over it all ready france lost the world cup.my question does does everyone hate the french?

Do any of you realize that it is part of the game to get under the opponents skin so as to neutralize their ability to concentrate and score? Do you realize that had Zidane stayed in the game, his teammate still missed on his PK? Do you realize that his teammate would still have been chosen to take the PK?

If I were playing against someone who had a history of getting back at players, believe me, I would use every insult I could to get him mad at me. It's part of the game. Materazzi isn't the first, nor the last player to do it.

To focus on Materazzi as a cheater doesn't do Zidane any justice. Remember Zizou for his heroics, to say that he was taken down by a "cheater" is to say that anything can take him down.

If I were in Zidane's place, I wouldn't want to be remembered that way.

They lost because they worship Zidane. no Man deserves worship. you can praise Man but not worship it's Idolatry which the Bible Condemns it's the very first of the Ten Commandments. I have seen several people call Zidane God.BLASPHEMY!! people wonder why France lost. I also saw Buffon praying right before PKs.

here is a question.do you think that materazzi played on zidanes emotions? did he get under his skin? was he able to get france best player in a bind?was he able to get him kicked out of the world cup finals? you know in every sport not just soccer players play with each others head.and nobody is safe.everyone wants to win.the thing is not to fall for it yet you be the bad guy.i am left wondering really zidane blew it when he knows the game comes with talk and that you have to be a player and not fall for it.and why didnt he just say something back to materazzi about his mom.something better?is zidane a spoiled little brat or something.wich leads me to my last question.why are the french act the way they are when hundereds of french men were hurtling insults at our lance amrstrong now turning around and saying insults kept them from winning the world cup? just a few things to try and figure out.
