hi daniellek. you know, i used to think that way too, but i've been having a change of heart lately. i'm actually beginning to sympathize with Italy. i suppose us france supporters will never understand how hard it must be to fend off the stigma of a “dubious” win like that because we never had to do it. France won ‘98 in convincing fashion i heard even Pele was impressed but we have to understand that not everyone can win in such high style. I think we are being incredibly insensitive if we continue to deprive the Italians of their “just” celebration simply because everyone even those pious monks in Tibet thought they cheated the French. Fact is, the Italians won. Who cares if their hero is a “thug”, a “butcher” and a “cheat”, the trophy’s still in Rome, isn't it? And so what if they have to contend with scandal upon scandal in their football league? That’s their shame and no one can share it, not that anyone wants to but really that’s beside the point. The point is, the Italians have got so much to live down it could take years of shouting campioni del mondo before people forget. But if Zizou could redeem his honor in what, 2 weeks, I’m fully convinced Italy will manage it in 1, well, century, but hey, that’s still positive, right? And with so many of us pouncing on them at every turn, calling them all sorts of nasty things-cheats, divers, losers, scum or what have you, don’t you think the Italians are really being courageous out there? While a lesser race would have committed national harakiri in shame, the Italians and their supporters are still eating their cannelloni while dodging our bullets, popopoopoo! That's really crass, I mean class, don't you agree?

Yeh.UR rite. The Italy fans themselves know that they won by cheating. So in order to make it clear that they won, they r posting on and on about their winning.THis itself is a classic example of the Italy fans having no faith in the Wc 2006 victory of the Italy soccer team.

I think deep down they know that their team could only really win by cheating, and they keep having to justify it, they realize that the reason the entire world doesn't accept their "victory" means something, it means that it's just the truth they cheated, so they just keep gloating about their "win" in hopes that people will stop saying the truth. But to glorify cheating is an example of weak character, and anyone who does this needs to feel ashamed.

Might have to do with the fact French supporters won't stop harping on the headbutt incident and cheating allegations.

yes because everyone accuses them of cheating..when it was only really materazzi who was. its not fair to stereotype the whole italian team as cheaters, but then again if zidane didnt get that red card, we all know france would of won. sadly things didnt work out that way.
