An English guy I work with calls Baseball players "whimps" for needing a glove. He basically says Cricket players are doing the same thing, and throw as hard between bases, etc. with no glove, and they use a harder ball. Can anyone give me a serious answer about this?

I've always wondered about this:-
If the ball strikes the batsman's front pad in line with the stumps (without first pitching outside leg stump) and the bastsman has the bat tucked in behind the pad, does the umpire ever consider giving it not out on the basis the ball would have gone on to hit the bat rather than the stumps?

If not why not?...as the LBW law by it's very nature suggests the ball would have hit the stumps if it had not hit the pad....and this theoretically cannot occur if there's a bat in between.

Thoughts?

Indian fast bowlers are young and inexpereinced, there is no senior bowler in the team to guide them.History has shown us that when a new bowler comes in there is always a senior bowler to guide him. When Javagal Srinath and Prasad came into the team we had Kapil and Prabhakar guiding them.Similary when Nehra and Zaheer came into the team when had Srinath mentoring them.Currenly the seniromost is Agarkar who is in and out of the team. The other senior bowler is Pathan who has been there only for 3 years. With the world cup around we need to to look for a bowling coach right

For me cricket is more beautiful than anyother game be it soccer or..................................
Soccer ends in 2-3 hrs where u require instint of brain while playing. But cricket is so complex u need talent, patience, ability to handle pressure as u hav time in the game for recovery,& instint sometimes.
u'll find diff people in this game som of them hav liittle talent but become heros due to there patience just as rahul &u'll also find people like sehwag whho hav the required talent but may not use it due to lack of patience.
In my words cricket also teaches a lot to us about life ,only lovers & followers of cricket can understand this feeling.i think even test cricket is as interesting but u need the write eyes watching them .WATS U'R SAY ???????????????????
