A far cry. Even my wish is he plays at the World Cup, but things are not going his way. A stint of rejctions have demoralised him.

If India is to win the ICC Champions Trophy, Ganguly's return to the team is impossible. Looking at his current performances, he has nothing to show or to be chosen in the team, but if the selectors are looking for more experienced team for the World Cup, then Saurav Ganguly will definitely be back in team. Saurav should be given a chance, just for what he has did in the past for the country, but it seems to be impossible looking at the history of Indian Sports legends. Forget about hte past, we all saw what they did to Dhanraj Pillai in Olympics. He had already declared that it was his last match, he was going to retire, but yet the coach kept him off the match and substituted him inn just before 2 min. of game left. Dhanraj cried in front of the media to what has happened to him, Ganguly seems to be the new case of this dirty category.

If India performs in the ICC cup ,the way they performed in West Indies and in Malaysia, I think it looks like a possibility
provided Ganguly is in the rusn in the Domestic Cricket.

I hope he makes a comeback. If there is no politics in bcci he should have been back in the team. But of course the pawars and more are the curse to Indian cricket .Just playing dirty cricket politics and ruining many players careers that include sanjay manjrekar vinodkambli off late anil kumble as well as manoj prabhakar and last but not the least Zaheerkhan.Another player whose career has been ruined inspite of performing very well in domestic cricket i may say, sharath,Reetindersingh sodhi and many more whom we may not know

Some thing which is next to impossible.
It is time he retired gracefully.
He should accept the fact that his playing days are numbered and the message on the wall is very clear and loud .
We have youngsters who are eager and waiting on the side lines , who when offered even half a chance can prove their worth.
It is time he looked in to other options to serve the game which made him what he is today.

unfortunalty its seems almost impossible for him to get back, as he is not only facing th opposition of Chappel, but also of the players , media n the public, so he has to fight on all these panels for his rights, if his performance wasnt that good in the recent mathes why dont thye think of that pressure that he is holding of all activities n politics carried agaisnt him. he is victom of that dirty politics, but i will again say he is still the best of bests. only luck is not favouring him. only a mircale can bring him back to the team otherwise there seems no chances by the time.

Frankly speaking I don't think India can win world cup without Ganguly as being their captain. It is very much possible for him to make a come back but only if chappal is removed. He had scored so many runs...he does not need to prove himself. It is ridiculous to ask him to prove. Rahul Dumb is elder then him(no matter what he writes in his bio data) so you can't say he should be remove because of his age factor.

In the present form, there is absolutely no chance. However, if he performs exceedingly well in the domestic matches, he may be considered for future selection.
