I think more than the Hero, it’s the Producer of the film who always wins. He has invested a huge amount of money to make his effort a grand success. The audience who also spent money for their pleasure/entertainment, expect that the story goes according to their liking. Producer knows perfectly well about the nerves of his audience which is why he projects the Hero as an indomitable force. Poor villain is meant to take all the beating in the end. All that goes according to the liking of the audience and a perfect plot for the Producer to succeed.
In real life however the story is totally different. The world known hero of the “Six Million Dollar Man” had once admitted in an interview that in his real life, he can’t even mold an ordinary tin with his own power. And here is an interesting related story for the interests of the readers if they like: People from sub-continent know that there was a hugely popular Pakistani Film Hero - Sultan Rahi – whose name once surfaced in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for his participation in maximum number films as a Hero. Because of his continuous roles in films over the years as a warrior fighting against the evil forces and ultimately prevailing upon them, his had become a house hold name and a towering figure to fight for the right. All of a sudden we heard one day that he was killed by robbers, who stopped his car on a roadside and shot him dead. Interesting aspect of Rahi’s death was that the towering figure could not resist for a moment in the real life.

Because most people root for the hero to win (due to the villian being a baddie that has hurt/killed a lot of people).
That being said, the hero doesn't ALWAYS win, especially in Comic books.
