Other - Society & Culture - 25 November 2006

There is no doubt that we hate society, by we I mean the general concensus, and so if we despise it so much, whether it be the MTV teens or the racism or the injustices or the double standards, why aren't we changing it altogether? Are we afraid of backlash or are we just a lethargic nation that needs to complain about misfortunes, not fix them?

Hey Guys
I have to write an essay on the topic "Life for teenagers today. Our Future" and I just wanted some other peoples opinions on the topic.

Do you think teen life is easy and carefree or do you think it is a much bleaker picture for teenagers than many people realize. Try to present some examples of how a teens life is hard or easy.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm taking an EMT course and there are 8 of us.
Of the 8 of us, I'm the only non-white student.
The rest of my classmates are from a small town that does not have "exposure" to diverse culture.
They're not goose stepping Nazis or anything...no one is yelling RAHOWA! or some crazy stuff like that.
But, I think I'm the only Dakota they've been this close to.
I know they want to know more, they're opening up...slowly.
Usually when I come across people like this...I just smile, wave and try not to give in to the urge of kicking their @ss for acting so damn weird.
What I need are pointers...how do I draw them outta their shells?
I need guidance, I need to know a way to end this with as little bloodshed as humanly possible.

ive never smoked weed all my friends do but i tend to drink more, i just want to know through the eyes of someone who is completely baked, like out of their mind, what do they see and experience? like if u smoked a lot of weed in one sitting, what do you feel, what happens?

Personally I feel very offended. I'm born and raised in Canada. I grew up believing in God and Jesus. Now that immigrants are coming to Canada they are claiming that they are being discriminated against! Go back to your own country if you can't get use to our culture! I'm upset that pray and the words to O Canada have been taken out of our schools. I know that if I went somewhere oversea's and didn't want to join in on their customs like covering up my face I'd be shot! People have it luckey and I just wish that this Christmas my faith and my culture would be respected by someone that has immigrated to Canada. I respect they should have freedom, they should respect me!
