Red Fridays.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and
every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a
deafening message that ... every red-blooded American
who supports our men and women afar, will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United
States on every Friday a sea of red much like a
homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every
one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will
not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it
will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is
on their side more than ever, certainly more than the
media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can
we do to make things better for you?" is ..."We need
your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out
and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear
something red every Friday.

I have been reading the questions that many have submitted. Certainly quite a few are presented by persons who think they can claim sarchastic wit as their own. I am horrified by the terrible grammar and spelling, as well as the very content of many of these questions. Is the general public really this stupid?

From this morning YAHOO news, "Already, six percent of health costs in the WHO's European region, which includes Central Asia, come from obesity in adults, the organization's data show.

In 1992 obesity cost France $12.1 billion in direct costs alone, while in 2000 obese and overweight people cost the state of California $22 billion, including indirect costs, Shekar said.

Obesity is also expected to reduce life expectancy, which could have a knock-on effect on the economy. A recent UK study forecast men would live five years less by 2050 if current trends were not reversed."

What I don't understand why those news people talk about anAmerican Fat Beauty. There is more fat, obese (not feeling well, not want to do much) people in this country then take all countries together. For some strange reason they always talking about other countries, like Europe where people are much skinner and healthy and they do have HEALTH INSURANCE!

There is a crisis in the American Food Supply. Standing in the produce section of my organic grocer, I find I'm not the only consumer afraid to pick up leafy greens. In the meat department, I'm not the only one wondering what kind of farmers fed ground up cow to cows and not the only one wondering if this hamburger will fill my child's brain with holes.

I watched this video this morning and wondered if Reagan's aggressive anti-farmer policies have brought us to this agribusiness crisis. I wonder if there is still time to save ourselves.

What do you think? What are you doing to make things better?

This video made me cry to think of all we've lost and about the good decent farmers who were painted as greedy mismanagers by the Republican 'reformers' of the 80s.

What have they wrought?
