It seems to me that just wishing or condeming them all away isn't going to work. They are a big part of this society and should be accepted and treated as any other couples- or single gay Americans.
What I cannot figure out is why it bothers so many people? I'm not gay and I couldn't care less if someone is or not. I have friends and some family members that are very dear to me and what kind of relationship they are in matters not about what kind of human beings they are.
Why does it bother so many people?

I am asking this question in several of the heated categories to gather suggestions from persons that see the problem.

It seems like they often call their children by the same first names as themselves so you get George Bush Junior, so and so Rockefeller the Third etc etc.
What's the idea? Isn't it confusing for everyone to have a child with the same name as yourself? Isn't it belittling for the child to be referred to as 'junior' even when they are an adult? Oh and I've always wondered also why the use of middle initials, eg John F Kennedy. Isn't it all generally a bit pompous? How widespread is it? Why not just have a first name and a family name?
