I live in the South. They are proud, ignorant, religious and superstitious.

Nice enough folks until you cross em. Then watch out!

I am from the South, originally from North Carolina and currently living in Alabama. The only ignorant slow people that I can see are the ones who previously answered, stereotyping Southern people. Neither I, nor any of my friends, are racists, have ever been on Jerry Springer or live in a trailer-park or the ghetto. Southern people are very proud and family-oriented. We are friendly, even to strangers. You may see a Southern person wave to you as you are riding down the road even though they have never met you. We attend church on Sunday, then have big family get-togethers for lunch afterward. Most Southern people were raised to say "yes ma'am/sir" and "no ma'am/sir." There are rednecks everywhere in the world, not just in the South. I have noticed a huge influx of Northern folks moving to the South about the last 10 years or so. If it so great there, and we are so ignorant an back-woods here, then why would that be?
