Show that the equidistant set of two points in R^3 is a plane. a) Show that the plane passes through O if the two points are both at distance 1 from O.
b) Deduce from (a) that the equidistant set of two points on S^2 is a "line" (great circle) on S^2. Next, we establish that there is a unique point on S^2 at given distances from three points not in a "line".
c) suppose that two points P,Q belong to S^2 have the same distances from three points A,B,C belong to S^2 not in a "line". Deduce from (b) that P=Q.
d) deduce from (c) that an isometry of S^2 is determinated by the images of three points A,B,C not in a "line".
Thus, it remains to show that the following. Any three points A,B,C beong to S^2 not in a "line" can be mapped to any other three points A',B',C' belong to S^2, which are separated by the same respective distances, by one, two ore three reflections.
Complete this proof o the three reflections theorem

The problem you need to verify is:

sin2x = (2tanx)/(1+tan²x)

You must use double angle identities to verify this. Pathagorean identites may also be used.

*Please not that the perenthesis are just there so you can tell what is on the bottom and what is on the top of the fraction.

My teacher asked us a very odd Stats question please help !..

How would I figure this out?:

For the following problems:
1. State the Null Hypothesis and the Alternative Hypothesis
2. Determine the test statistic.
3. Determine the P-value
4. Make a decision regarding the hypotheses based on the P-value and the Level of
Significance.

8. In a recent year, some professional baseball players complained that umpires were calling more strikes than the average rate of 61% called the previous year. At one point in the season, umpire Dan Morrison called strikes in 2231 of 3581 pitches (based on data from USA Today). Use a 0.05 significance level to test the claim that his strike rate is greater than 61%.

how do you do these problems:
by the way *= squared
~factoring monomials first~ (factor the expression)
1) 3x* + 54x + 243
2) 8y* - 28y - 60
3) 112a* - 168a + 63
4) u* + 7u
5) -v* + 2v - 1

Equations in standard form (solve the equation)
1)x* + 9x = -20
2)5p* - 25 = 4p* + 24
3)(w + 6)* = 3(w + 12) - w*

I realize that it's a lot of problems for one question but it you could do one of the first equations and one of the second equations I would really appreciate it. Also do you think you could show me the steps on how to to these. I am so very lost! Please help and thanks! Will choose best answer!!!

THIS IS sort of a combinations of math and history, because it's well, the history of math, so i need help finding 3 people from the past, the teacher gives us clues

1st one, male, born in greece about 287 BC, figured out the value for PI,

2nd one, gender unknown, born in paris, birth time unknown, developed a concept which now is called 'analytical geometry'

3rd one, male, born in 1718 in to a wealthy and literate family, when 13, learned to speak 7 languages, at age 21 (i think), was already discussing complex complex philosophical questions with adults on a regular basis, also Published "two - volume Analytical Institutions", x2y=4a2(2a-y)

those are the only ones that i dont know yet, so HELP!

b.)At what time did the climber reach the summit?

These have to be described w/ a linear function, not algebraically.
