You want to order a deli platter for a sports banquet. You need 12 pounds of meat and cheese. You want twice as much meat as cheese on the platter and an equal amount of ham and turkey. The price per pound is $4.95 for ham, $6.99 for turkey, $7.99 for roast beef, and $4.36 for cheese. How many pounds of each should you order if you plan to spend $69.24?

I have thought this over for about an hour and I just now realized that the word 'meat', in the first part refers to the beef, the turkey, AND the ham =(. I can't believe I've only gotten this far, everyone else in my class understood it, but I'm stumped. I need to make this data into equations so I can solve it using matrices. Don't tell me the answer, just sort of point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks ahead of time.

Your aunt and uncle have been visiting at your home. Five minutes after they drive away, you realize that they forgot their luggage. You happen to know that they drive slowly, so you get in your car and drive to catch up with them. Your average speed is 10 miles an hour faster than their average speed, and you catch up with them in 25 minutes. How fast did you drive?

It says to use the following verbal model:

your speed = their speed + 10 miles

your speed x your time in hours = their speed x their time in hours

The answer in the back of the book says it's 60 mph. =/

A.) Write the equation to the tangent line to the prabola y=x^2 @ (a,a^2).
B.) Find all tangent lines to the parabola y = x^2 that pass through (0,-2).

----Now let (c,d) be a point which may or may not lie on the parabola.
C.) Make a conjecture as to how many tangent lines of the parabola pass through a given point (c,d). How does the answer depend on the point (c,d)?
D.) Give conditions on c and d which tells us whether we have exactly 0, 1 or 2 tangent lines through (c,d).
E.) What do these conditions tell us about the location of the point (c,d) with respect to the parabola?

Some help please? I am lost with this problem and it's due tomorrow.

I really need help on this, exam is tomorrow morning.
If F(x)=Integral from 0 to sqrt(1+x^2) of cos(t^2)dt. To what is equal its derivative? I tried this way : I put G(y)=integral from 0 to y of cos(t^2)dt. I notice that F(x)=G(sqrt(1+x^2)), so F'(x)=G'(sqrt(1+x^2)).2x/(2sqrt(1+x^2)). At final it gave me xcos(1+x^2)/sqrt(1+x^2). Is it right?
Then come the big problem. I could do this only because I knew how to derivate an integral starting from 0 to something else, but now, I have to derivate the integral from cosx to x^4 of 1/(1+z^2)dz. How to do so? Please explain each step and give me the answer.
