I know how to find the slope- intercept when the equation is written like this 2x + 3y = 6

But how do I find the slope intercept for the equation

2x = 1/2y + 2

The book says, "write each pair of lines in slope-intercept form. Then identify whether the lines intersect in exactly one point or if the lines are parallel or coinciding"

The second equation I know how to solve 4x - y = 13

What is the "X" intercept of 4y-12=28x?

I found the "Y" intercept... no problem. I see the 28x and I'm not sure how to get rid of the 28 and still keep both sides equal. I'm sure I'd have to divide since "28x" is multiplication... I'm just not sure where to go from there. Solve and explain, pleassssssse.

1) 8x - 5x = 15

2) -3(-x + 4) = -9

3) 2(4x + 3) - 9 = 45

4) 6x - 4(2x + 8) = 16

5) -5x + 4(2x - 2) = 1

6) 2(2x - 4) + 3x = -1

7) -3 + 5x = 12

8) 2 - 5/6x = -8

9) 2/3x = 12

How does 3(x/2) = 2x - 3 become -x/2 = -3 ??????????

I know you have to subtract the 2x from each side but I don't understand how the 3(x/2) becomes -x/2. Why isn't it x/2? You're taking 2 away and leaving one positive one.

Find an equation of the tangent line to the curve
y=(3 x2+3 )ln(3 x2-2 )+5
when x= 1.

Solution: We use the fact that the tangent line to the curve
y=f(x) when x=x0 is given by
y=f '(x0)(x-x0)+f(x0).

For
y=f(x)=(3 x2+3 )ln(3 x2-2 )+5

and x0= 1
we have that f(1)=_________ and f '(1)= ___________ .

An equation of the tangent line to the given curve when x0= 1 is y=_____________ .

I cannot for the life of me figure out this business calculus problem...

Gas is being released from a balloon on a cross-country trip in order to lose altitude. The balloon is sphere in shape. The radius of the balloon is decreasing at the rate of .75 yard per minute. Approximately how fast is the volume of the balloon decreasing when the radius is 25 yards?

Note: The volume of a sphere is given by the formula V = 4/3 Pi r ^3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

We plan to put Beauty to sleep by chemical means, and then we'll flip a (fair) coin. If the coin lands Heads, we will awaken Beauty on Monday afternoon and interview her. If it lands Tails, we will awaken her Monday afternoon, interview her, put her back to sleep, and then awaken her again on Tuesday afternoon and interview her again.

The (each?) interview is to consist of the one question: what is your credence now for the proposition that our coin landed Heads?

When awakened (and during the interview) Beauty will not be able to tell which day it is, nor will she remember whether she has been awakened before.

She knows the above details of our experiment.

What credence should she state in answer to our question?

Is the answer 1/2 or 1/3?
