What is the "X" intercept of 4y-12=28x?

I found the "Y" intercept... no problem. I see the 28x and I'm not sure how to get rid of the 28 and still keep both sides equal. I'm sure I'd have to divide since "28x" is multiplication... I'm just not sure where to go from there. Solve and explain, pleassssssse.

To find the x-intercept, you set y = 0
4(0) -12 = 28x
-12 = 28x
Divide both sides by 28
-12/28 = x
Reduce
-3/7 = x
The x-intercept is (-3/7,0)

Back to basics. If the "Y" intercept is where "X" = 0, the "X" intercept is where "Y" = 0. So you set y=0. Then 28x = -12. Now, where have you been for the last year? Divide both sides by 28 and simplify to get -3/7.

you can put this into familiar form y = ax + b
4y-12=28x
4y = 28x + 12
divide by 4
y = 7x + 3

to find x-intercept, set y = 0
0 = 7x + 3
-3 = 7x
-3/7 = x

the first thing to do is find Y
then take 28 and divide it by 4
the # that was 28 divide it form both sides
then take the # that is now Y and subtract it from both sides
then add 12 to both sides because it is a negative
You should now have your answer X
