I am a sixth grader and am studying calculus so hear me out! I can prove a circle is polygon:
Note:This theory complyies with the fact that a divergent series correlates to a convergent series

Let Dx represent a point on any circle plotted on a regular cartesian coordinate system. Let Ax represent the angle of arc between two adjacent points (right next to each other).
As the limit of Dx approaches a very high number or infinity for that matter, the angle of Ax approaches 180 degrees. proving this we draw a tangent (or actually a secant) touching the area between both points and they will both be parralell. Please leave feedback positive or negative but intelligent answers only with explanations! Thank you!

For instance if I have a fraction of 1/2 and I put the n outside of the line in the fraction, doesn't that mean that I am NOT saying 1/2n, but rather 1/2 n?

The number zero has the property that it is equal to twice its cube (0 = 2(0)^3). Use the Intermediate Value Theorem to show that there's another number with this property. Use algebra to find all numbers with this property.

I asked another question here how to plot it and I have a very good idea of how to do it now but still have some fundemental confusion.

If I have y = 5 sin 2x

I know the period is pi (2pi/2) = pi ok.
I know my amplitude is 5 ok.

Now I want to make my points to plot. So I do my x | y table and say I want x to = 0, y = 0 ok.

Now say I want to do pi/4 for one of my quarter cycles ok.

Here is where I am lost??? Do I calculate this ?

y(pi/4) = 5 sin (pi/4)
y = 5 * (sqrt2 / 2)
y = (5 sqrt2) / 2

That can't be right? My answer should be +5?
This is where I am lost and need to figure it out. I can assume that my period is 1/2 regular 2pi ok. I know it has to go up to 5.

Here is where I even get more confused

pi / (3/4) gives me 3pi/4 right?

Well sin 3pi/4 = sqrt2/2 again... How is this -5???

I know I'm missing something real basic here but it is making it impossible for me to do this work so any help please!!! make it for an idiot to understand :)
thanks

y = 4sinx * ln(x+3)^3

i know i have to use product rule first then chain rule for the second expression.

dy/dx = 4cosx [am i right?] * 3ln(x+3)^2

ok...where do i from here?

need clarification on this point - when rearranging formula

make s subject of
r = 4(3-s) I will resolve this so that the "r" comes at the end of the equation on the RHS :
ie

s=12 - r/4 or

but with an x and y equation the y goes to the beginning of the RHS equation ie

make x the subject

y = 3x +5

becomes

x = y-5/3

why is it not

x = 5-y/3?

glad for any clarification

I am trying real hard to figure this out and I know the what it should be but I just can't get it.

y = 5 sin 2x

So the period is 2pi/2 which is pi. So I know that this has double the frequency of sinx.

I know the amplitude is 5 so it goes from -5,5 on y.

Now the book says take my period and divide by 4 to get my points. Each time I do this I get only the upper half of my graph? Please can someone give me a step by step of the little equations used and explain, divide this by this and check unit circle for this and then multiply that etc etc. For some reason I'm missing something real easy here that this book just assumes we know because it skips right through getting the points and goes on to phase shifting without showing how to get points...

Please help me!!!

I have a little query, for my upcoming exam I am expected to be able to give approximate answers to equations like this...
1/(2.03)^4

The explanation given is:

1/(2.03)^4 ~ 1/16+(0.03 x -1/8) = 47/800

The second example is

1/(2.97)^3 ~ 1/27+(0,03 x -1/27) = 103/2700

I understand all except the part in the second brackets and how the numbers are found. Im studying this course in French and this is not my first language, i was wondering if somebody could explain it in English please?
