I'm just guessing (because your question is so poorly worded), but I think you're looking for the length of AC (the hypotenuse) of the triangle. If so, you have to use Pythagorean Theorem
c = √(a² + b²) which, in your problem, is
c = √(16² + 30²) = 34

Your first sentence is wrong. You are mixing A,B, and C with a, b, and c. Do you mean AC = 16, and BC is 30? Use the right letters. A is not a. B is not b. C is not c.
