If we sit on the edge of the Milky Way, how can you be sure that some of the gamma ray burst aren't coming from the the other end of our Milky Way Galaxy?
Also: How many star nurseries do we have?
How many suns do we have?
How many red giants do we have?
And is it possible to manufacture a satellite that can leave our galaxy to take pictures of our entire galaxy from I guess above.

Milky Way Galaxy Tail of the Tape:
80,000 to 100,000+ light-years in diameter
250,000 to 300,000+ light-years in circumference
And outside the Galactic core, about 1,000+ light-years in thickness. When I watched the latest story on this from the Discovery Science channel they only focused on our solar system and then look outward from our galaxy trying to pinpoint the location of the Big Bang. I'm not saying that that's not important, but why not look inside our own galaxy first. Also, if you watch it they only mention our location in the galaxy.
