Actually I just remembered this information is on an old 1965 map from the library. It said the frozen water permafrost depresses the ground to 1200 feet below sea level. But I cannot find this anywhere in the articles pulled up on Greenland. Hence, is it fact....

I'm not sure about the actual depth below sea level, but yes, the ice weight does depress the island.
